My name is Melinda Maves and I'm so glad you're here.

For as long as I can remember, I've loved to write. Stories, poems, song lyrics, and journal entries filled every paper I could get my hands on.

My sincerest wish is to touch the hearts of my readers in the same way books have made an impact on mine. Writing is as much a part of me as the breath in my lungs. I couldn't imagine a life without it.

I hope you'll join me on this adventure as I navigate the road to becoming a published author. It's been my dream since I could hold a pen and I can't wait to share this journey with you!

#realtalk, y’all.

I’ve needed a laptop for a long time, but did without because there were so many other things that needed to come first for our family (and that was ok!). It wasn’t something I complained about - I’m beyond blessed to have so much more than I truly need and don’t take that lightly - but my husband took notice.

I made it work by using our very old desktop computer for my writing, but it was struggling to keep up and I felt isolated only being able to write in the one place it was set up. It couldn’t support Chrome, Word, or even Zoom, so I wrote my story on Google Drive (while praying it wouldn’t crash the computer using Safari) and saved it to my external hardrive after each edit. Most of my part-time work was done from my phone.

My birthday isn’t until the 13th, but my husband wanted me to open it so I could start using it ASAP. Buying this laptop was certainly not in our budget, but my husband, his parents, my mom, and my brother all pooled together to make it happen. My husband researched and pondered every tiny detail 😭

I was so surprised and giddy while opening it (and worn out from a very fun, hot day at the zoo with our littles 🩷), but most of all I was incredibly humbled. I’m grateful for a family who loves me and has always supported my crazy dreams. There’s no way I could do this without you and no way I’d want to. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This gift will allow me to write from anywhere! 🥹
